Netflix Self-Torture Experiment Trilogy #31: Dumb Luck In Vegas
Every single member review for this movie on Netflix gives it only one star and tears it to shreds, so it’s pretty much a no-brainer.
Synopsis from Netflix: Geno (Joey Travolta) is a no-talent singer down on his luck in Sin City when a small-time Mafioso makes him an offer he can’t refuse: Kill a bookie in exchange for cash. Geno reluctantly accepts, but just as he’s about to do the deed, he wimps out. Later, when the bookie actually turns up dead, Geno finds himself framed for the crime. Now, it’s up to his three goofball buddies to save his neck in this comedy co-starring Jeff Conaway.
My thoughts: You know why Joey Travolta never had a career? Because he never bought in to Scientology.
Also because he was a terrible writer, director, and actor.
I don’t like to use the word “hate,” but I hated this movie more than I can properly explain right now. You see, I’ve been drinking (because of how bad this film was) and my usual gifts for elucidation and sarcasm are currently dulled by alcohol. It’s a bit of a shame, but I don’t really know if I could have accurately described the awfulness of Dumb Luck In Vegas even if I was sober right now. Let’s just say I would rather read the entire bibliography of L. Ron Hubbard than watch this movie again and leave it at that. [One out of five stars.]
