Netflix Self-Torture Experiment Trilogy #45: Extreme Ops

Let’s get extreme!

Synopsis from Netflix: A director (Rufus Sewell) leads his film crew to the Austrian Alps to make a commercial featuring three extreme skiers tailed by an avalanche. Unbeknownst to them, Slobodan Pavle (Klaus Lowitsch), a Serbian war criminal, is hiding nearby. When he finds out he’s been accidentally captured on film, he hunts down the crew. Bridgette Wilson-Sampras and Devon Sawa co-star in this action-filled adventure.

My thoughts: You know how some action movies just substitute car chases and explosions for an actual plot? Well that’s what Extreme Ops was, except instead of car chases and explosions it had people snowboarding. A lot. It even had several scenes of people on snowboards filming other people snowboarding. Yep, lots and lots of snowboarding.

If snowboarding is your thing, then you will probably enjoy this movie much more than I did. Even if that’s the case, though, there’s such a lack of realistic drama in the Serbian war criminal subplot that I’m pretty sure you still wouldn’t want to sit through it. It actually took me about three hours to finish the 93-minute film because I had to take a break for a nap and then I really felt the need to do some household chores for a while. (What I’m trying to say is that this movie is boring as fuck.) [One out of five stars.]
