Netflix Self-Torture Experiment Trilogy #52 - Megiddo: The Omega Code 2

This was a suggestion from @tehawesome. At first I had the original Omega Code in my queue but all of a sudden Netflix stopped carrying it, so I had to go with the sequel.

Synopsis from Netflix: Michael York is the prince of darkness in this apocalyptic sequel to the 1999 surprise hit produced by Matthew Crouch (son of televangelist Paul Crouch). After trying to kill his baby brother David, Stone Alexander, the young son of media tycoon Daniel Alexander (David Hedison), grows into a ruthless satanic adult (York) with evil designs that — as usual — don’t bode well for humanity.

My thoughts (confusing spoilers included): This movie was so bad, it got to the point where it was comically bad. Basically, the embodiment of Satan is able to control most of the globe by dissolving the European Union and the United Nations to form a United World Something-or-other. Meanwhile, his brother just happens to ascend to the presidency of the United States and refuses to be bullied by a foreign power. (Hold on to your hypocrisy hats, everyone.)

Eventually, at some sort of crowning ceremony, the Chinese start a rebellion and are joined by the Americans and Latin Americans. When it appears that they will win the day, our antagonist takes his true Luciferian form and summons the forces of evil. All of a sudden it looks like all is lost for humanity, until God does something and all the bad guys die. Boom, then it’s over and a passage from Revelations is shown on the screen before the credits roll.

Being that it took an hour and 40 minutes for all of this to transpire, I’m obviously simplifying the plot just a little—but not by much. I have to give Megiddo: The Omega Code 2 some credit for being laughably bad at times; however, I can’t honestly say I would want anyone else to suffer through the predominant drudgery simply to chuckle at the few unintentionally funny moments. [One out of five stars.]
