Netflix Self-Torture Experiment Trilogy #55: Killer Drag Queens on Dope
I doubt I have to explain why this movie is on the list.
Synopsis from Netflix: Two sexy contract killers try to stay one step ahead of their vengeful enemies and lusty admirers in Lazar Saric’s action-packed comedy. Ginger (Alexis Arquette) and Coco (Omar Alexis) have a secret: They work as hired killers for one-eyed madman Uncle A. (Don Edmunds). The thrills never stop as this out-of-control duo tries to escape from a series of crazy characters. Mario Diaz, Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs and Mark Beltzman co-star.
My thoughts: LOL. I can’t honestly say that I thought this movie was good, but it did have an absurdity about it which was kind of endearing. Plus, you have to give the producers credit for delivering on what they promised in the title: drag queens who do a lot of drugs and kill people for money. It was a welcome change from last year’s I Spit On Your Corpse, which involved no corpse-spitting whatsoever.
The plot was only semi-interesting and the acting was pretty awful, but there were moments of absurdity that made the viewing experience bearable. The first of these moments was a hallucination scene which involved several quickly-flashing random images, one of which was a ’50s era clip of a child being tossed from one person to another on a beach. (It probably doesn’t sound funny but I’m looking for the YouTube clip as we speak.) Another moment of absurdity was Ginger’s rescue of Coco, which was inexplicably done on roller skates. She even somehow materialized a roller derby jersey to complete the ensemble.
Like I said initially, this wasn’t a good movie. For an hour and 25 minutes, though, it’s entertaining enough to sit through. I’m sure it’s even funnier with herbal enhancements, if you know what I mean. I’m looking at you, burwell. [Two out of five stars.]

I actually love Alexis Arquette, for some reason.
