Netflix Self-Torture Experiment Trilogy #67 - Mulva: Zombie Ass Kicker!
LOL. I don’t even know any more…
Synopsis from Netflix: After collecting mountains of candy on Halloween night, the willful Mulva (Missy Donatuti) and her chocoholic friends are forced to defend themselves — and their stash of sweets — from an army of flesh-eating zombies with the help of a do-gooder named Mr. Bonejack (writer-director Chris Seaver). Troma Entertainment founder Lloyd Kaufman and B-movie queen Debbie Rochon also star in this outlandish horror-comedy.
My thoughts: Okay, there are at least three things that are horribly wrong about this movie:
- B-movie or not, the production value was awful. I’m not exaggerating when I say that I could make a film of my own with my Flip video cam and iMovie that would be at least as good as Mulva: Zombie Ass Kicker!
- Why the fuck are people in their 20’s going out on Halloween to trick-or-treat? If someone over the age of 15 showed up at my door asking for candy, I’d tell them to fuck off.
(Corollary to item #2: I object to the use of the term “chocoholic” in this movie’s synopsis. I understand that it’s a commonly-used word, but there’s just no such thing as chocohol.) - I’m surprised Troma Entertainment hasn’t been boycotted by the NAACP for the extensive use of blackface and the n-word in this film. Seriously, it’s not like it was made in 1930; it’s from 2001 and it repeatedly crosses a line that doesn’t need to be crossed.
Needless to say, I hated this movie and I will now try to erase it from my brain by drinking the remainder of the beer in my refrigerator. [One out of five stars.]
